Main reasons the refugees left Bosnia are that the Serbian army were laying siege to Sarajevo and that many Bosnians were muslim and their race was being eradicated in Bosnia much like Jews in WWll but not to the same extent. Nearly 7000 muslims were killed in the genocide in the town of Srebrenica.
